Powerful Norse mythology poetry taken from the Elder Edda, (as translated by B. Thorpe) in calligraphy surrounding the ash tree, Ygdrassil. This suprior quality print of an original watercolor painting (now sold) has Celtic interlacing interpreted as tree limbs and roots outlined in gold ink, and the text encircles the tree itself. Odin is speaking about hanging from a tree, teaching himself ancient texts, no one offering him anything to drink even though he is thirsty...lots of Christ images.
Limited edition print series of 50, signed and numbered by Jocelyn Boblink on heavy off-white Somerset Velvet acid-free textured print paper, is printed in lightfast digital ink. Print area is 10x12 1/4"; paper dimensions: 12x17." Watermarks will not appear on your print. Ready for the matting and frame of your choice. We'll ship it rolled in a tube for best protection.
Different variations of my Ygdrassil trees and other Celtic interlacing have been gifted to schools, retiring English teachers, etc. Also, appropriate for Norse mythology, Viking, and Anglo-Saxon medieval epic poetry junkies.
